    Pancreatitis

    Pancreatitis is the inflammation of pancreas. Pancreatitis may be caused by a gallstone obstruction in the duct, alcoholism, certain medications, autoimmune diseases, infections, metabolic disorders, injury or previous surgery.

    Symptoms of pancreatitis include pain in the upper abdomen that radiates to the back, abdominal tenderness, fever, nausea, vomiting, rapid pulse, unexplained weight loss, oily, smelly stools (steatorrhea).
